LOS ANGELES: The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has in a statement strongly condemned the attempted bombing in New York City and all acts of terrorism. The statement urged all American Muslims to condemn this attempted attack and stand up for loyalty to the United States of America.
Imam Shamshad, the southwest regional missionary for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in America, said that "Islam teaches peace and commands Muslims to follow the law of the land and be loyal to the land they live in because this is what the founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad taught -- that love for one's country is a part of one's Faith as a Muslim."
Imam Shamshad called on all Muslims in this region to join in loudly condemning all kinds of violence and terrorist activities.
He said "We are all enjoying freedom in this country and we must respect the law of the land, which is in our benefit."
The holy founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, declared 120 years ago that there is no place or justification in Islam for any kind of violence whatsoever.
Imam Shamshad further said "It is clear from the events happening in many places around the world that a very small minority of fanatic and extremist Muslims have hijacked the faith of Islam and continue to mislead the Muslims and ruin their lives.
He said that any actions to create chaos are nothing short of "cowardly attempts" to hurt the innocent and unsuspecting people of the city.
"It would disturb me deeply if it turned out to be an act of any so-called 'Muslim' no matter what the rationale might be. There is simply no excuse or justification for such terrorist acts, period." Imam Shamshad said.
